At Done It, we offer professional driving lessons and Instructor Training in Glasgow south side and Paisley covering Barrhead, Neilston, Giffnock, Newton Mearns Govan Pollok and surrounding areas. Learn from an ex-DVSA Driving Examiner with over 30 years experience in the driver training and examining industry. Friendly, fun and professional training that teaches you not only to pass your test but be a competent driver.

Professional Driving Lessons

Tailored driving lessons to build skills and confidence to enable you to confidently pass your driving test. Single lessons, 1.5 hours lessons, 2 hour lessons and semi intensive training on request.

Instructor Training Program

Comprehensive training to become a qualified driving Instructor. Learn from the person who helped set the standards. 
Thinking of a career change, then driving instructing is a satisfying career. Work your own hours and pick your own holidays. Ideal for working around school times or other commitments. 
To qualify you must pass three seperate exams.

part one theory 

part two advanced driving assessment

and part three instructional ability

Part one you have as many attempts you need to pass. However, if you prepare then you have the ability to pass first time.

Part two driving ability you must show expert handling of a car and have a maximum of three attempts to pass.

When you pass you can take on a trainee badge and get paid whilst preparing for your final exam.

We sponsor trainees for up to 6 months and provide the necessary training 

The final exam is the instructional ability exam.

A DVSA examiner from enforcement will sit in the back of the car whilst you give a lesson.

Your are assessed on various areas and given a score. You must meet the relevant score standard to pass and given either a fail, grade B or Grade A.

You have three attempts at the part three. If you fail you must wait 2 years from the date of passing your theory test before you can re apply. When you reapply you have to start from the beginning.

A tough test so learn from the best.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many lessons will I need before taking my driving test?

The DVSA recommend around 45 hours training with an additional 20 hours private practice. If you don't get private practice then you would add this to professional lessons.

Having worked in the industry for 30+ years some people take less and some people take more. You can be reassured that lessons are tailored to individual ability.

unfortunately statistics show that one in five new drivers after passing their tests are involved in accidents within 6 months of passing.

It is my aim to help reduce this statistic by not only teaching basic skills but when you reach the basic standard I aim to provide more advanced training which would include country roads and motorway tuition. 
Being an ex-examiner I know the standards required. I also have a good reputation and only present pupils for test when I know they are ready. 
My aim is to help you become a competent and safe driver for life. 
I also provide Pass plus Training. 

 

What qualifications do your instructors have?

All instructors are disclosure checked and meet the DVSA standards required to give professional instruction. 
In addition I have completed advanced driver training and hold City and Guilds in Driving Examining.

I am also a qualified Cognitive Behavuoral Therapist (CBT) and helped many anxious individuals overcome their anxiety to pass their test.

I have also provided combination of CBT and driver training to individuals getting back to driving after accidents.

 

Do you offer automatic and manual driving lessons?
Yes, we offer both automatic and manual driving lessons to suit your preference.
